Or maybe you are the one lacking willpower to become your better dating self, then this is your sign that it’s time to fix it - thinking is a demanding process not a lot of people enjoy, so instead here’s our carefully picked list of venues for your perfect night of romance (but also a bunch of places to avoid):
Cafe Einhorn
Do not let the reputation of this bar discourage you from bringing your homeless-looking alternative tinder match for a romantic night out - as far as questionable white stains on the tables (maybe it’s worth checking out after 3pm on a friday night) and bartenders with occasionally shaky hands, your experience in this facility will be, at the very least, entertaining.
Espresso Café Bar
Does your date wear soleless Asics shoes and has a trust fund work in Graphic Design? We know a cafe for a successful date. Your wine - overpriced; your date - instantly name-dropping random Serbian horror movie directors; your waiter - rude as fuck;- but isn’t it what your were both going for? Put your hand-made-in-Kathmandu woollen scarf on and ask that slenderman-looking German coke head out. (Bonus: CHEAP COFFEE ALERT)
Schikaneder
A golden lot for those who say Andy Warhol used to make good movies - a cinema and a bar at the same time, this venue is in every possible sense accommodating for a conversation where both parties pretend to recognize names mentioned. While Dr. Strangelove is highly against bringing your first dates to a cinema, this could be a middle ground if you really need to satisfy your urge for external intellectual validation. Another perk is a wide variety of alcohol free beverages in case your date is California sober; and the prices even seem to be acceptable in this economy.
